Operational Excellence Manager

Job Function:

The Brunk Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager will be responsible for planning, developing and directing the continuous improvement activities across Brunk. The OpEx Manager will lead the Brunk Lean Manufacturing system and drive efficiency and effectiveness programs to drive cost out of our manufacturing process. Also responsible to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement across the workforce to identify and eliminate waste throughout the manufacturing system.

Responsibilities:

The minimum responsibilities for this position are listed and are not completely inclusive of all that are required for success:

  • Manage the continuous improvement activities across the facility
  • Develop and manage multiple large scale projects or kaizens at the same time
  • Develop and deploy through training and coaching the use of Lean, 5S, VSM, Six Sigma improvement tools
  • Deliver projects with high ROIs into the manufacturing floor
  • Develop cost effective methods for new and existing production processes

Required Skills:

These are a list of skills required for this position but are not inclusive of all skills that will be used in performing successfully:

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead diverse teams in achieving project goals
  • Ability in training and mentoring for both Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical techniques with strong computer skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues both on and off the production floor
  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to create and interpret detailed mechanical drawings
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Education:

Minimum educational and related experience required:

  • MS/BS in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability in leading a Continuous Improvement program within a manufacturing environment
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience using manufacturing ERP systems
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing preferably precision metal stamping, assembly and laser welding.

Work Environment / Protective Clothing Required:

This position requires the person:

  • Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
