Shipping & Receiving Operator 1st shift

Position Summary:

Meet Shipping and Receiving commitments to ensure delivery of a final product that meets required customer specifications, Brunk quality standards, and customer expectations for on time delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various picking, packing, palletizing parts per customer specifications.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies, equipment, and finished goods; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
  • Verify counts of parts received from manufacturing and sublet.
  • Stock finished goods and assign locations of stock to move tickets.
  • Provide information to warehouse lead person regarding any discrepancies discovered though performing final count process.
  • Input shipping and receiving transactions on computer (includes raw material, sublet components, and MRO items).
  • Maintain a clean work area including floors.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Order shipping supplies as needed.
  • Perform cycle counts as assigned.
  • Prepare shipments for transport using appropriate shipping methods.
  • Deliver items to requisitioning departments.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving methods and procedures.
  • Ability to touch-type.
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation.

Education and Experience:

Education:

Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Computer experience helpful.
  • Prior experience in the warehouse traffic & shipping with forklift experience.
  • Valid driver’s license is a must

Work Environment:

  • Work is in a manufacturing setting with noise, some grinding dust and fumes. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull 100 to 2500 lbs. using carts and/or moving equipment.
  • Must wear protective shoes, safety glasses, and shop shirt.
  • Must wear hearing protection while working around loud noises.
