Quality Control Lead

Job Function:

The Quality Control Lead supports the Quality Supervisor by coordinating the timely completion of daily operational Quality Control expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities. Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Complete documented training and fully understand all Brunk QMS documents that apply to the Quality Control Lead.
  • Guide, coordinate, direct, and schedule Quality Inspectors on the timely completion of daily operational Quality Control expectations, in accordance with the direction provided by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Ensure incoming, setup, in-process, end of run, and final inspections are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Confirm Quality Inspectors are using inspection devices, ERP and Quality systems per the Brunk QMS.
  • Train and mentor Quality Inspectors on proper inspection and good documentation practices as defined by the Brunk QMS.
  • Compile customer shipment documents per the Brunk QMS.
  • Assist in the investigation and/or verification of Non-Conforming Material.
  • Provide input to ensure the continuous improvement of quality procedures and inspection methods.
  • As needed or requested, perform all Quality Inspector responsibilities.

  • Proficient in blueprint / drawing reading and interpretation.
  • Extensive experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators, calipers, optical comparators, automated vision systems, and CMMs.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot automated inspection systems such as OGP Zone3 and Keyence IMS.
  • Proficient in computers and software such as Microsoft Office, ERPs, and inspection data collection systems.
  • Basic understanding and application of GD&T, SPC, and ISO9001 & ISO13485 quality management systems

Education and Experience:
Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or
certifications obtained throughout one’s career.

  • ASQ Certification and / or 5 years’ quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years’ experience working in ISO13485 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements & Protective Clothing Required:
• Office, some work in manufacturing setting with noise, grinding dust & residue. Light lifting, (30 lbs or less)
• Must wear safety glasses, ear protection and safety shoes while in the manufacturing areas.
