Design Engineer

Job Function:

the Design Engineer will be supporting our product development activities in our new Brunk Technology Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In this role the designer will lead the design of new metal components and metal and composite sub-assemblies. They will also be responsible for working with the global Brunk engineering team on developing new automated manufacturing machines and automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new innovative stamped, machined and additively manufactured products
  • Design and develop new automated manufacturing machines and systems

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated design ability in both mechanical and electrical design using Solidworks
  • Expert knowledge in mechanical and electrical design for metal piece part manufacturing
  • Experience with product development and design for manufacturing methodologies
  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to create and interpret detailed mechanical drawings
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Education:

Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; MS preferred
  • Demonstrated ability working in an integrated engineering environment
  • Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical design of tightly toleranced and highly complex systems
  • 1-3 years experience in design and building of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Expert proficiency with Solidworks design software and with FEA of complex systems
  • Knowledge of the Medical Device and High-Tech industries highly desirabl

Work Environment:

  • Work is in an office and manufacturing environment with noise and some grinding dust.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, PPE while in manufacturing area.
