Controls Engineer

Job Function:

Develops new automation systems and provides production support for existing manufacturing equipment through managed upgrades and process improvement activities. Utilize AOI, Robotic, PLC and Laser technologies to automation Welding, Assembling, Stamping and Material Handling Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the conception of inventive concepts for manufacturing process that includes documentation and illustrations for the build.
  • Programing, electrical documentation, safety controls/guarding, trouble shooting and maintenance of the electrical systems for manufacturing.
  • Bill of materials, project tracking and timeline management. This includes equipment operation documentation.
  • Interface with equipment and team members within the Brunk culture to ensure projects are on time and within budget.

Required Skills:

  • Organization and programming: PLC, computers with structured text, motor drives, camera for inspection, HMI and multi axis robot controls.
  • Utilize Cad and Microsoft products for documentation of equipment build and production operation.
  • Understanding and ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to follow the DMAIC process.
  • Be a team leader to drive process improvements throughout the organization and a source of leadership that fosters growth.
  • Basic knowledge of temperature and pneumatic systems (inclusive of electrical, pressure and flow).

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical control system design and engineering for machinery, including programming, start-up and debugging processes. Experience with PLC Logic and programming, 3D design, CAD, Electrical circuit, AOI, Robotics, I/O Devices, Ethernet IP communication are required.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in an area with loud noise and vibration.
  • Must wear proper PPE (protective shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) and follow LOTO procedures.
  • Complete critical precision work in a manufacturing environment with noise and vibration.
